A floor plan becomes more useful when the people making a decision can explore the same layout. Save your work, come back with fresh ideas, then share a view-only version with someone whose opinion matters. This guide focuses on that handoff, using Fifsee’s free floor-plan workflow.

1. Save your work before you leave
Sign in when you want to keep a project. Fifsee’s floor-plan workspace explains that your plans and edits save privately as you work. Wait until you see “Progress saved” before closing the page or moving on. Saving progress and choosing to share are different steps: you do not need to send anyone a link just to keep working later.
Before leaving, check that you are in the right property project and that your latest changes are visible. If a save is still pending or your connection has dropped, keep the page open until saving completes. Do not assume that closing the page will finish an interrupted save.
2. Reopen the saved project
Return to the floor-plan tool while signed in to the same account and open your property from My projects. Check the layout before making another round of edits. This is especially useful when you want to discuss an idea today and refine the furniture arrangement tomorrow.
Cannot find the project? First check that you are using the same sign-in account and that the earlier session reached “Progress saved.” Avoid deleting a project while trying to find it; opening a saved project and deleting it are separate actions.
3. Give the layout one practical review
Before sharing, check the outline, doors and openings, floor surface and scale. Use a known measurement when setting scale. A sofa that looks comfortable in a model still needs its real dimensions checked before you buy it.
- Buyer: try your existing furniture and note which measurements you need at a viewing.
- Seller: show a possible arrangement while making clear which furnishings are illustrative.
- Tenant: explore a desk, bed or dining setup and check actual room measurements before ordering.
- Landlord: compare a furnished layout with practical access routes, then discuss the proposal with the people who will use the space.
You can place furnishings manually in the free workflow. It is a planning exercise, not a promise that the tool has checked accessibility, building regulations or structural suitability.
4. Share a view-only link with a clear question
Use the workspace’s Save & Share step to create a shareable view-only link. The link lets someone review the plan; it is not a shared editing session. Send it through the messaging app you normally use, together with a short question that tells the recipient what to look for.
“Here is the layout I’m exploring. Could you look at the living room and tell me whether you prefer the sofa facing the window or the opposite wall? The furniture is illustrative; we still need to confirm measurements.”
Open the shared link yourself before sending it widely. Check that it shows the intended project and gives the recipient enough context. Only share drawings and property information you have permission to share. Remove sensitive notes from the material you upload, and treat a shareable link as something a recipient could forward.
5. Turn feedback into the next version
Ask for one or two decisions rather than a general “What do you think?” A question about desk placement, circulation around a table or a preferred furniture arrangement is easier to answer. Return to your own saved project to make changes, wait for progress to save, and check the shared view again before your next discussion.
